William Darrek Robinette of Chancellor, AL passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025 at his home. He was 73.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Fox Fleming officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to Sardis United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Darrek was a lifelong resident of Chancellor, Alabama, where he retired after 25 years of service to Winn-Dixie. He served as their Market Manager. He was an avid sports fan throughout his life, from his school days playing football at Coffee Springs to later in life when he played the back nine on the golf course. He was a die-hard Alabama football fan and loved cheering on the Crimson Tide.

His greatest joy came on the softball field watching Brittney play and Rob coach her. Many summers under the bright lights watching them both together were his best memories.

His love for his family was unmeasurable, and his most precious gift was the time that he was given to see his grandchildren grow.

Fly high, Darrek, and watch over us. You fought a hard fight, and knowing you are at peace gives us all comfort. We love you, Daddy and Pop.

Darrek was preceded in death by his father, Robert Robinette; his mother, Daisy Robinette; and his brother, Harry Robinette.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Donna Robinette, Chancellor, AL; four children, Rob (Randi) Robinette, Geneva, AL; Brittney Robinette (Brittany), Rehobeth, AL; Andy Robinette, Coffee Springs, AL; Missy Robinette, Geneva, AL; four grandchildren, Bryson, Tatum, Briggs, and Leighanna; four step-grandchildren, John David, Eli, Charlee Grace, Selah; great grandson, Brixton; sister, Brenda Faulk; niece, Bridget Goodson; two nephews, Brandon and Blake Faulk; along with several great nieces and great nephews.
