William Eugene (Gene) Reynolds, Sr.

William Eugene Reynolds Sr. (Gene) passed away January 5, 2026, at Madison Heights Memory Care. He was 87. He was born on October 13, 1938, in Dothan, AL.

Services will be graveside at Meadowlawn Memorial Park in Enterprise, AL on January 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Reverend Fred Flowers. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his honor to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America.

Gene grew up in the Wiregrass area graduating Enterprise High School class of 1957. He then attended Auburn University graduating with a degree in Engineering Physics in 1961. He worked in the defense industry In Washington D.C. from 1961-1970. While there he received his Master’s degree from American University. Gene was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Enterprise.

In 1970 he decided to move back to Enterprise and work in the family business Enterprise Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning which later became ESMAC. He worked alongside his father B.Z. until he retired in 1973. Gene then managed ESMAC until his retirement in 2022. Gene served as president of the Alabama State Roofing and Air Conditioning Association four times over his career.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Gayle Condrey Reynolds. Also, by his son Michael, and parents B.Z. and Carrell Reynolds.

Survivors include his son Dr. William E. Reynolds Jr. (Liz) and daughter Kimberly R. Lewis (Russ), both of Enterprise. Six grandchildren. Dr. Mitchell Mock (Sara), Meredith Mock, Dylan Lewis, Madison Lewis, Patrick Farmer (Katherine), Will Farmer (Hannah). Great grandchildren Noah Thomas Mock, Payton Farmer, Presley Farmer, Miles Farmer and Caleb Farmer.
