William Garreth Moore

May 14, 1956 — April 1, 2024

William Garreth Moore, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at his home. He was 67 years young. Survivors include his two daughters, Julia Moore and Caroline Moore, both of Enterprise; sister, Nancy Moore of Enterprise and his niece, Jessica Apke of Fayetteville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Pierce and Eula Johnson Moore, and his four-legged best friend, Baron. Garreth graced the world with his presence on May 14, 1956 in New Brockton, Alabama. He was a beloved graduate of New Brockton High School class of 1974, where he enjoyed playing basketball. Among many hobbies, Garreth was an avid outdoorsman who loved traveling, camping, horseback riding, scuba-diving, offshore fishing, riding motorcycles, a good hand of poker and watching Alabama football, the Atlanta Braves and many forms of racing. His love for flying led to piloting and owning his own plane. His greatest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted father to his two girls, Julia and Caroline. Garreth learned the value of hard work by working alongside his father in their family business, Moore Construction. His passion for the economic future of Coffee County led to his involvement in politics as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives from 1994 to 1998. Garreth also previously served as president of the Enterprise Home Builders Association. After a fruitful career building homes, he began his own appraisal company to continue to help others realize their dream of homeownership. To honor Garreth’s final wishes, he will be cremated and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Forever Wild at AlabamaForeverWild.com or by mailing a check or money order to Forever Wild Land Trust at 64 N Union St., Ste. 464, Montgomery, AL 36130.
