William Roberts Hutchison

William “Billy” Roberts Hutchison of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Medical Center Enterprise. He was 95.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Matt Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Wiregrass, PO Box 311072, Enterprise, AL 36331, First Methodist Church, Building Fund, 217 South Main Street, Enterprise, AL 36330 or any charity of your choice.

Billy found great joy in the outdoors, especially fishing with his family and friends and spending time along the coast enjoying saltwater fishing. He was an avid gun enthusiast and had a deep appreciation for quarter horses, which he loved to show. Above all, he cherished time with his family, taking great pride in being actively involved in the lives and activities of his children and grandchildren. Billy was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ, continuing to attend even in his later years.

A talented athlete in his youth, Billy was known for his remarkable speed and quickness. He held the record at Enterprise High School for the longest punt return and kickoff return until the 1990s, a testament to his athletic ability and determination. He was also a devoted sports fan who enjoyed following college and high school football and baseball throughout his life.

Billy was preceded in death by his loving wife JoAnne Motley Hutchison, sister Mary "Tommie" Lee, two brothers James (Jimmy) Hutchison and Sammy (Sambo) Hutchison, and son-in-law Charlie Ezzell.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Ezzell, Enterprise, AL; son, Bill Hutchison (Stacy), Enterprise, AL; three grandchildren, Chase Ezzell (Dawn), Mary Catherine Wood, and Hana Hutchison; two great-grandchildren, Alivia Ezzell and Anna Claire Wood.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at DaySpring Hospice, Wiregrass Home Health, his devoted sitters, and the compassionate nursing staff at Medical Center Enterprise for the care and kindness shown to him.
