Scotty was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. For 53 years, he shared a loving marriage with his wife, Deb, building a life centered on faith, family, and an unwavering commitment to one another. On a dead-end dirt road on the back of family land, just outside the city limits, Scotty built a house and made it a loving home for his wife and two children.
He enjoyed water skiing, horseback riding, team penning, and never missed an opportunity to cheer on Alabama football. He was always active and present in his children's lives, from coaching their little league teams and teaching them to water ski to attending the many activities and events in which they participated through the years.
Scotty's work ethic and punctuality defined much of his life. He built a career with his hands, beginning as a brick mason, continuing at Michelin Tire Corporation, and later serving as an aircraft mechanic at Shell Field Airfield. Even throughout a 25-year battle with Parkinson's disease, Scotty approached life with the same determination and grit that had always defined him. Despite countless challenges and surgeries, he continued moving forward with courage, dignity, and an appreciation for the people and experiences he loved most.
His ever-present kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dry but witty humor, his generous heart, his steadfast devotion to Deb, and his deep love for family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Noah and Carrie Anne Yarbrough.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years Deborah Yarbrough, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Megan Wilks (Clint), Enterprise, AL; son, Shane Yarbrough (Mandy), Auburn, AL; four grandchildren, Logan Yarbrough, Ava Wilks, Brynlee Yarbrough, Cash Wilks; sister, Anita Dunaway (Johnny), Enterprise, AL; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
