Vance S. DeVane

Vance DeVane of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Sunday, July 13, 2025, at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, after complications from a brief illness, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was 69.

Graveside services will be held at Meadowlawn Cemetery, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 12 P.M. with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating and Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory Directing. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Paws Atlanta pawsatlanta.org, in memory of Vance and his beloved grand-dog, Charlie, who proceeded him in death January 2, 2023.

Vance was a proud graduate of Enterprise High School, Class of 1974. He continued his education at Auburn University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance. For over 40 years, Vance dedicated his career to the field of medical finance, where his love of numbers and unwavering work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Vance’s life was grounded in love for God, his beloved wife, his cherished daughter, and his loyal grand-dog, Charlie. His quiet strength, steady wisdom, and deep devotion to his family will be remembered always.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Loraine DeVane, Enterprise, AL; brother, Bruce (Jo) DeVane, Enterprise, AL; in-laws, Billy and Dot Helms, Enterprise, AL.

Survivors include his wife of 41 and a half years, Beverly DeVane, Panama City Beach, FL; daughter, Emily DeVane, Smyrna, GA; niece, Tiffany DeVane Swaney, GA; brother-in-law, David Helms, Dothan, AL; sisters-in-law, Brenda Helms Wilks, Enterprise, AL, Janet Helms Purvis, New Brockton, AL; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
