Trevor Neal Forbeck, 28, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away on February 26, 2026. He was born September 2, 1997, in Sacramento, California, and grew up in Rancho Murieta, California.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2026, at Wings Chapel, Fort Rucker, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Trevor’s honor.
Trevor proudly served in the United States Army from January 2016 until his retirement in April 2025 as a Warrant Officer (WO1). He began his military career as an Army Medic and later pursued his passion for aviation, training to become an Apache helicopter pilot. During his service he was stationed in Baumholder, Germany, and also served in Poland, Israel, and Lithuania providing medical aid. From 2019 to 2023 he was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington before moving to Fort Rucker, Alabama for pilot training.
While stationed in Germany, Trevor met the love of his life, Courtney. Both serving as Army medics at the time, their connection was immediate and they quickly became inseparable. They were married on April 4, 2018, in Baumholder, Germany. Though they were far from home, they built a life together grounded in love, adventure, and partnership.
Trevor was a devoted husband and an incredibly proud father to his two children, Alora (6) and Colton (5). Becoming a father was one of the greatest joys of his life. Alora was truly Daddy’s little girl, sharing many of Trevor’s mannerisms and personality. Colton looked just like his father and loved spending time fishing and having “little buddy” adventures with him. Trevor cherished retirement for the simple joy of taking his kids to school, watching airplanes take off and land with them, going to the park, playing catch, and helping them learn to ride their bikes. He was known for leading playful mischief with the kids—often teaming up to spray water at their mom and leave the floors soaked with laughter.
Trevor loved hiking, traveling, exploring new places, scuba diving with his father, and sharing good food with the people he loved. He and Courtney enjoyed trying new foods together, famously eating snails on their anniversaries—and he was well known among family for his spaghetti dinners. Trevor also had a brilliant and curious mind, filled with endless random knowledge that he loved to share.
Family meant everything to Trevor. He is survived by his beloved wife, Courtney Forbeck; his children, Alora and Colton Forbeck; his parents, Tina and Eric Forbeck of Loudon, Tennessee; and his brothers, Tyler and Dylan Forbeck. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Donna Ellenberger; his uncle Wade Ellenberger and cousins Neal Cline, Kelsi Pena, Aaron Harper, Jasmine and Bryce Ellenberger; his paternal uncle Fred Forbeck III and uncle Kirk Forbeck.
Trevor talked fondly of how incredibly proud he was of his two younger brothers. He admired Tyler’s dedication to helping others through his path to becoming a Physician’s Assistant and loved watching Dylan’s athletic achievements, especially his lacrosse highlights.
Trevor leaves behind Courtney’s large and lively family, whom he deeply loved, including her father, Gorden Smith; sisters Ashley Harris and Keely Smith; and niece and nephew Vincent and Ocie Harris. Trevor was affectionately known as “Uncle Bones,” a nickname that began when his bony chest was the only place that could lull little Ocie to sleep. He enjoyed visiting family in Indiana and Illinois, especially the big family meals and fishing trips down by the river with his father-in-law, Gorden Smith.
Trevor was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred Jr. and Marlis Forbeck, his aunt Lynn Harper and his cousin Jenae Forbeck, for whom his daughter was named.
Trevor will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted and playful father, a loyal son and brother, and a proud soldier who served his country with dedication
