Tony Lionel Brunson

Tony Lionel Brunson, 76, of Helena, Alabama, passed away on August 3, 2025. Born on June 13, 1949, in Enterprise, Alabama, Lionel was remembered for his independent spirit and unwavering loyalty.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing the service.

Lionel graduated from Auburn University, a milestone that marked his dedication to personal growth and learning. Following his studies, he served with distinction in the U.S. Army Reserves, earning an honorable discharge-a testament to his quiet strength and sense of duty. Professionally, Lionel devoted many years to the U.S. Postal Service, where he got the chance to make an impact on his whole community.

Proceeded in death by Freeman and Rubye Brunson.

Survivors include his three brothers, Lamar Brunson, Enterprise, AL, Gary Brunson (Connie), Montgomery, AL, Richard Brunson, Niceville, FL. Two nephews, Benjamin Brunson (Cindy), Montgomery, AL, Parker Brunson (Adele), Brookshire, TX. One niece Tyler O’ Grady (Eugene), Columbus, GA.
