Thomas (TD) Jones

Thomas “TD” Jones of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 71 years old.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Fox Fleming officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.

TD was born on November 1, 1953, in Miami, Florida, and later moved to Louisville, Alabama—his mother’s hometown. He graduated from Louisville High School and went on to attend Wallace Community College, where he earned his degree. Following college, he began a distinguished career in law enforcement with the Montgomery Police Department, serving the community for 22 years.

In 1998, TD and his family relocated to Enterprise, Alabama, where he accepted the role of Chief of Police. He served the City of Progress with honor and dedication for another 22 years before retiring in August 2020. TD was known not only for his leadership and integrity in law enforcement but also for his deep love and devotion to his family.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known affectionately as “PawPaw,” TD found his greatest joy in time spent with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those he loved.

TD was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Jeff Jones, and his grandmother and grandfather, Lucille & Dewey Robinette.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 43 years, Sharon Jones; daughter, Heather Jones; son, Justin Jones (Jessica); treasured grandchildren, Landrie and Easton Jones; aunt, Mary Annice Fenn; and his loyal four-legged companion, Walter.

His legacy of service, love, and integrity will live on through all who knew and loved him.
