Sue Speigner of Enterprise, AL passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation. She was 78.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Building Fund, 500 Alberta Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Sue found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cross-stitching, crocheting, making beautiful blankets, and spending quiet moments with a good book. A longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, her faith was an important part of her life. Above all, Sue cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cookouts, holiday gatherings, and any opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved were among her happiest moments.
She dedicated many years of service to Enterprise City Schools, where she retired as the payroll and billing clerk, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Buford and Maggie Byrd, half-brother Jim Byrd, and two half-sisters Martha Ellis and Annette Cameron.
Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Ed Speigner, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Molly Pawlik (Doug), Enterprise, AL; son, Ken Speigner (Jennifer), Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Tyler Pawlik (Svenja), Savannah, GA; Shelby Pawlik (Jill), Panama City, FL; Hayden Speigner, Birmingham, AL; two great-grandchildren, Sutton and Stella Rae; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff of Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care, kindness, and support.
