Sharon Olivia Jones of Daleville, AL passed away, Friday, February 6th, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 74.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, February 11th, 2026 at Searcy Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to Daleville Boys and Girls Club or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. At the conclusion of the service the family will receive friends at Becky's.
Sharon was born on January 2, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia, to Dallas Junior Sellers and Mary Glenn Johnston. A devoted caregiver and compassionate soul, Sharon dedicated 54 years of her life to the nursing profession as a Registered Nurse, touching countless lives through her work and kindness.
Throughout her remarkable career, Sharon cared for patients in Alaska, Kentucky, Enterprise, Dothan, and Fort Rucker. Her commitment to excellence and genuine concern for others earned her numerous honors and recognition over the years. Nursing was not just her profession, it was her calling.
Beyond her work, Sharon embraced life with joy and laughter. She loved dancing, singing, traveling, joking, and fishing, and she never missed a chance to share a smile. One of her fondest memories was going to Hawaii for her 25 wedding anniversary, and seeing all the western national parks, and visiting New York. She had a special affection for her dolls and flowers, but nothing delighted her more than Christmas, which she cherished with childlike wonder and heartfelt enthusiasm.
Above all else, Sharon believed in being good to everybody. Her kindness, warmth, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be remembered for her laughter, her compassion, and the love she so freely gave.
Her legacy lives on in the many lives she healed, helped, and inspired.
Preceded in death by, her parents Dallas Junior Sellers and Mary Glenn Johnston and her stepdad Leland (Whitey) Johnston.
Survivors include her loving husband and best Buddy for 38 years, Wendell Jones, Daleville, AL; two daughters, April Robinson; Wende Roack (David); five sons, David Dooley, Anchorage, AK; Brian Dooley (Lydia), Ozark, AL; Vincent Dooley-Jones (Melinda), New Brockton, AL; George Dooley (Tracie), Anchorage, AK; James Dooley (Tamara), East Wenatchee, WA; two sisters, Marilynn Hutson (Richard), Enterprise, AL; Carolynn Batten (Jeff), Enterprise, AL; her favorite sister-in-law, Darlene Nancy Jones, Florida; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; and her life long friend Sue McDonald Henning, North Carolina; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
