Rose Rainey Braswell McMillan, 93, a dedicated mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at her home in Dothan.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Mrs. Barbara Alberson officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethlehem Camp, 3073 County Road 160, Bonifay, FL 32425.
Rose was born October 5, 1932, to Henry Neal and Maureen Folsom Rainey of New Brockton. She was the youngest of two daughters.
Rose found joy in her family and Christian faith, spending countless hours in her Bible, even earning a master’s degree in theology from Regent University. Her first love was Beulah Camp in Excel, Alabama, where a dormitory is named after her. She was also a large contributor to Bethlehem Camp, Bonifay, Florida, where she attended Family Camp every June with her family. Rose and her family founded Enterprise Electronics in 1971 where they were the first to develop the Doppler radar. She traveled all over the world promoting their radars for governments, the military, media and aviation sectors worldwide in the hope it would save lives by detecting tornadic activity ahead of advancing storm systems.
Rose earned a Bachelor’s degree in finance from Troy State University. She started her career at Vitro Services in Fort Walton Beach, FL, a research and development business, before moving to Enterprise to start Enterprise Electronics.
She was a dedicated fan of the University of Alabama and enjoyed cheering on the Crimson Tide in the fall during football season.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as her son, Rick Braswell.
Survivors include her daughters, Tsina Braswell, Enterprise, AL; Paige Braswell Loew, Charleston, SC; and Hannah Braswell, Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Christy Wall (Matt), Estonia; Stephanie Braswell (Rob), Charleston, SC; Dr. Michael Vinzani (Jessie), Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Ryan Braswell, Charleston, SC; Maddie Wall, Brimingham, AL; David Wall, Charleston, SC; and Theodore Vinzani, Charleston, SC; her sister, Peggy Jeter; and several nieces.
