Billie was born and raised in Fayette County, Alabama and lived a long, blessed life defined by steady faith and deep devotion to his family. Above all else, Billie loved sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he rarely missed an opportunity to point others toward the love and grace of the Lord. Billie attended Baptist Bible Institute now known as Baptist University of Florida. He answered God’s call in 1965 and faithfully served as Pastor for 50 years.
For an incredible 70 years, Billie was married to the absolute love of his life, Alpha Williams. Billie was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones, whether gathered around the table playing Dominos, taking trips to the mountains, fishing, or grabbing a bite to eat with family at McLin’s. He also enjoyed tinkering and could fix just about anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking naps, watching old westerns, and keeping up with football.
Billie was preceded in death by his parents, Fletcher and Allie Hudson Williams, sisters Bobbie Taylor and Mary Ellen Hayes.
Billie leaves behind a devoted family who will miss his warmth and wisdom dearly, and a legacy of faith that will carry on for generations to come to include his wife, Alpha Goree Williams; one brother, Larry Williams (Priscilla) and one sister, Ann Jones; two children, Stanley Williams (Ronznana) and Wanda Williams Wilkes (Philip); 3 grandchildren, Amanda Wilkes Hope (Justin), Matthew Wilkes (Kayla), and Ashley Williams; one great grandchild, John David Hope.
