Paul Bayard Brandt of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at his home. He was 87.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the church 10:00 AM until service time. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the S.O.S. Animal Shelter, 25944 AL 134, Enterprise, AL 36330.
Paul devoted 35 years to the United States Navy, exemplifying leadership and commitment throughout his career. During his time in the Navy, he commanded the USS Kalamazoo. Beyond his military accomplishments, Paul's passion for learning remained with him long after retirement. This curiosity led him to explore various fields and interests. Paul also had a deep appreciation for gardening. Paul Bayard Brandt will be remembered not only for his military service and leadership but also for his zest for life, his thirst for knowledge, and his love for nature.
Paul was preceded in death by a granddaughter Katie Rose and six brothers John Brandt, Peter Brandt, Fred Brandt, Francis Brandt, Eugene Brandt and James Brandt.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shirley Brandt, Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Teresa Ann Cutchin (Butch), Portsmouth, VA; Beverley Hawk (Rob Browning), Enterprise, AL; son, James Andrew Brandt (Chandra), Enterprise, AL; six grandchildren, Amber (Clint), Samantha, Noah (Mariah), Valerie, Victoria, and Justin; five great-grandchildren, Adriana, Parker, Penny, Wesley, and Callie; sister, Rose Brandt, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Pat Brandt, New Jersey.
