Mason proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War, demonstrating the dedication and strength that would define the rest of his life. Following his military service, Mason built a long and faithful career, retiring from Stone Container, formerly International Paper. Known as a true handyman, there was little he could not fix or build. He stayed busy throughout his life, always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends, and church community.

Mason played a significant role in the construction of the Church of Christ building in Abbeville, Alabama, and assisted his father-in-law in building the Church of Christ in Hatchechubbee. His commitment to service extended to Camp Wiregrass, where he worked tirelessly in any capacity needed until declining health prevented him from continuing.

A faithful Christian, Mason served in many roles within the church, including minister, song leader, and deacon. He gave himself fully to the Lord’s work, never seeking recognition, only striving to serve. He was rarely idle, always finding purpose in helping others and strengthening his community.

Above all, Mason loved his family deeply. He was a wonderful husband and a devoted father whose life reflected Christ in both word and action. The example he set will remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife June Streetman, his parents Hobson and Roleen Streetman, brother Gene, sister Sara Inez, granddaughter Amanda Bradford and great granddaughter Cammie Lee Dianne Alexander.

Survivors include his three children, Richard Streetman (Deborah), Rebecca Ellis (Tim), Vicki Alexander (Sam); brother, Sam Streetman (Marion); five grandchildren, Josh, Heather, Valerie, Emily and William; fifteen great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Greg, Ethan, Garrison, Conner, Desland, Jordyn, Josh Jr., Aliyah, Jesse, Khloe, Chloe, Aiden, Harlow, and Kaiya; several nieces and nephews; a very special family friend, Jackie Austin.
