Maria De Los Angeles Medrano-Reyes

Maria Medrano-Reyes of Harford, Alabama passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at her home. She was 72.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Yahweh House of Prayer with Pastor Felix Baez officiating. Burial will follow in Hardshell Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time.

María was a loving and generous mother and grandmother, with a deep faith and a heart firmly rooted in God. She was known as a mother who expressed her love through cooking, blending her maternal virtues with creativity, patience, and care. Through her meals, she showed her unconditional love to her family and was always attentive and thoughtful toward the needs of each of her grandchildren.

She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church since her baptism in 2001, where she served faithfully and lovingly as a deaconess and children’s Sabbath School teacher. María rests in the blessed hope of the soon return of Jesus in the clouds of heaven, firmly believing in the resurrection of the righteous that will take place at that glorious event. She was also a certified seamstress and enjoyed doing that in her career.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Gilberto Reyes Torres, Hartford, AL; three daughters, Mary Hernandez (David), Hartford, AL; Jessica Hernandez (Daniel), Hartford, AL; Sara Velasquez (Jorge), Opp, AL; eight grandchildren, Sebastian, Valerie, Emiliano, Santiago, Crystal, Mateo, Elias, and Lea; two nephews, Oscar Mendez and Edwin Mendez; niece, Carolina Mendez.
