MAJ (Ret) Lynn Ayres McLean of Daleville, AL, passed away, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at his home. He was 89.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 9, 2025 at Daleville Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.
Lynn proudly served his country in Vietnam and went on to retire as a Major in the United States Army. A skilled pilot of both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, he carried a deep sense of duty throughout his life.
After his military service, Lynn embraced every opportunity to travel with his beloved wife, exploring new places and making cherished memories. An avid fisherman, he found joy in being near the water, whether casting a line or simply enjoying the peace it brought. Lynn also had a passion for tinkering with old vehicles. Most of all, he treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.
Mr. McLean was preceded in death by his wife Betty Jean McLean, son Craig Lanier McLean, brothers Azel McLean and Leedolph McLean.
Survivors include his daughter, Twila McLean Spagnola, Daleville, AL; three grandsons, Christopher Spagnola (Natasha), Corpus Christi, TX; Mathew Spagnola, Daleville, AL; Dustin Lanier McLean (Amber), Gulfport, MS; five great-grandchildren, Addie Lynn Spagnola, Christopher Tannon Spagnola, Emiliana Insaliya Spagnola, Kainon McLean, and Aiden McLean; three sisters-in-law, Gypsie McLean, Gulfport, MS; Elsie Crumpler, Enterprise, AL; Martha Pippins, Daleville, AL.
