Luis Terry Vap

Luis Terry Vap of Enterprise, AL passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026, at University of Alabama Hospital Birmingham. He was 66.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time.

Luis proudly dedicated 20 years of his life to the United States Navy as a machinist’s mate before retiring. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver for the Coffee County Highway Department.

Luis was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed tinkering and could fix just about anything. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking naps, watching Hallmark movies, and keeping up with the Weather Channel.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Pauline Vap, brother Mark Vap and brother-in-law Michael Pankratz.

Luis is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Kelley Vap, Enterprise, AL; three children, Robert Vap, Maryland; Caitlin Dovie (Anthony), Enterprise, AL; Brandon Vap, Enterprise, AL; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and James; two sisters, Diana Pankratz, Oklahoma; Janel Gray (Paul), Oklahoma; two brothers, Duane Vap (Pamela), Oklahoma; Steven Vap (Michelle), Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.
