LTC (Ret) John Warren Wall of Enterprise, AL, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025 at his home. He was 81.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Enterprise Country Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
A decorated retired Lieutenant Colonel, he was a Purple Heart recipient who served two tours in Vietnam, where he was appointed as a Shark in the 174th Assault Helicopter Company. He was a professional bass fisherman who went on to create and run the Alabama Bass Association, the only solo bass fishing tournament trail in the country at that time. John was an avid golfer; he was happiest on the course or surrounded by friends in the 19th Hole. He held family in the highest regard and built a legacy of love with his wife of fifty years. His distinctive voice and Southern charm will be remembered and held dear by those who knew him best.
Survivors include his loving wife, Pam Wall, Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Quillian Wall McDaniel (Jim), Enterprise, AL; Whitney Wall Roland (Ronnie), Dothan, AL; five grandchildren, Colton McDaniel, Enterprise, AL; Molly McDaniel Buttrum (TJ), Columbia, TN; Pamela Hatfield, Dothan, AL; Shelby Hatfield, Dothan, AL; Suzy Roland Booker (Ashton), Ashford, AL; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan Buttrum, Maddy Buttrum, Grayson Magill, Griffin Magill, Dylan Hatcher, Mason Booker and Ty Booker. John was preceded in death by two sisters, Francis “Pookie” Bishop and Sara Spivey Piper; brother, Richard Harold Wall.
