Linda Sharp McGirt, born September 29, 1944, in Bainbridge, Georgia, was the daughter of Charles and Doris Sharp of Tampa, Florida. She grew up in Tampa and later moved to North Carolina to attend Campbell College (University), where she met the love of her life, Philip McGirt. Linda and Phil shared 49 years of marriage, building a life centered around their faith, family, and love for others.

Linda dedicated much of her life to serving children. She was a school teacher and later retired from Village Baptist Church, where she served as the Children's Ministries Coordinator. Her greatest joy was loving and pouring into children and sharing her love for Christ with them.

A visitation time will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 2026 at Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 21, 2026 at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM until service time.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Philip McGirt, her son Michael McGirt (Tonya); and her brother Dave Sharp.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love and devotion to Christ and children. Her greatest treasures were her three beloved grandchildren, whom she affectionately called "three apples of her eye". Cameron McGirt, Caleb McGirt and Hayley McCullough (Justin). Linda is survived by her daughter Jenny Brown (Lee), her daughter-in-law Tonya McGirt, her sister-in-law Judy Carter (Marshall), her nephew Chris Sharp (Katie, Dorabella, and Jackson) and her three grands.

Linda will be remembered for her love of Christ, her tender heart for children, and the countless lives she touched through her faith and service. Her love will continue to live on through her family and all those who were blessed to know her.
