Leroy Livermore

Leroy Livermore of Daleville, AL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was 97.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Daleville High School Gymnasium with Rev. Jim Peters officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital

Born in Pennsylvania, Leroy and his wife settled in Daleville after retiring from 22 years in the United States Army. Leroy went on to serve on the Daleville School Board, the Daleville City Council, and was the Daleville City Manager for several years. Leroy became known as The Voice of the Warhawks, spending 22 years announcing home football and basketball games. He loved Daleville and all the students he encountered at the school.

Leroy was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Livermore, whom he loved dearly, and ten brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his two daughters, Evelyn Livermore, Daleville, AL; Shelia Bess (Jeremy), Geneva, AL.
