Julian Connor Symkowick of Enterprise, AL passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. He was 19.
Julian was born in Watertown, New York on September 22, 2004. In 2010, Julian and his family moved to California. From there, he lived in Washington, Germany, and finally Alabama. Julian was an adventurer. He traveled all around Europe and saw a large part of the world in his short life. He loved baseball, paddle boarding, hiking, climbing, skiing, and lifting. Julian graduated high school when he was just 16 years old in 2021. He had an extremely intelligent mind. He was thoughtful and had the ability to see any issue from every angle, he analyzed this world with great compassion and dreamed of a day when he would be able to make a positive difference in people's lives. For those that knew him best, we understand that the world is far worse off without him in it.
Julian had an adventurous spirit and it showed in his taste for food, especially spicy foods. Julian loved to play with his dogs, in particular Fergus. They often reminded me of Calvin and Hobbs. Playing ball in the yard or lazily lying on the couch. They were inseparable. Just recently he had enjoyed reading the works of Nietsche. Philosophy was sometimes an obsession with him, a passion to understand humanity in both its triumphs and its downfalls. He cared very deeply for his fellow man. He will be sorely missed.
