Judith Ann McGaffey

Judy McGaffey, 78, of Enterprise passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 St. Luke United Methodist of Enterprise with Dr. Olivia Poole officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until service time at the church. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to S.O.S. Animal Shelter, 25944 AL-134, Enterprise, AL 36330.

Judy was a devoted educator and beloved member of her community. After her retirement she continued to share her love of learning through tutoring and substitute teaching, always dedicated to helping students succeed. She was an active and faithful member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where she especially enjoyed attending Sunday school and connecting with fellow members of her congregation. Her faith was a guiding light in her life.

Judy had a deep love for animals and spent many years rescuing and caring for them. She was also a proud and loving aunt who cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews, often attending their sporting events and celebrating their achievements.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mary McGaffey, along with her brother Frank McGaffey Jr.

Survivors include her two sisters, Linda White, Flagstaff, AZ, Bonnie Barefield, Skipperville, AL; brother, Robert McGaffey, Knoxville, TN; nieces, Amy Carter and Shannon White; nephews, Christopher Barefield, Eric Barefield, Michael McGaffey; several great-nieces and nephews; along with her dog and best friend “Amber”.
