He was preceded in death by his parents Ann and Larry Gillespie, along with his nephew Skylar Garity.
Survivors include his two sisters, Patricia Garity, Enterprise, AL; Rachel Purvis, Andalusia, AL; three brothers, David Lee (Vicky), Level Plains, AL; Ray Purvis (Lerna), Level Plains, AL; Carl Harris, South Carolina; along with numerous nieces, nephews and multiple cousins.
