JoAnn was born to Joseph Berrett and Mattie Bell Shehee Herring. She was a faithful loving, kindhearted Child of God. Even during her pain and suffering she displayed a loving smile to family and those caring for her. JoAnn married the love of her life, Lewis Talmadge Skinner, at a very young age. At the time of his death in 2017, they were married for 66 years. To them were born two children, Wanda Gilley (Anley) and Buddy Skinner (Sheila). She was Mawsie to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Grandchildren include Mitch Gilley (Jennifer Lynn), Eric Gilley (Amanda), Jennifer Herb (Danny), Michael Skinner (Kristen) and Misty Thrash (Jason). The family wishes to thank her church family, the staff at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation, and DaySpring Hospice for the love and care for our Mawsie.
