Joan Fetter of Lynn Haven, FL passed away peacefully Monday, August 03, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was 72.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 08, 2026, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Dr. Michael Mynatt officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Visitation will be held at Searcy Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 10:45AM. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society.

Joan found great joy in sewing, quilting, and creating beautiful handmade crafts, but nothing in her life brought her greater happiness than her husband and son, who were the center of her world. As the wife of a military serviceman, she embraced a life of travel that allowed her to experience cultures and places around the globe. She developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, especially America's national parks. During the last five years, Joan, her husband, and their son shared countless adventures together, visiting 29 of the nation's 63 national parks and creating cherished memories that her family will treasure forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louise and Aubrey Whatley Jacobs; sister, Jill Jacobs.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years Clifford C. Fetter Col, USAF (Ret), Lynn Haven, FL; son, Jacob C. Fetter; two uncles, Grover and Roland Jacobs; two aunts, Fannie Lou Jacobs Cowen, Myrtle Whatley Helms.
