Jeffrey David Herrell

Jeff Herrell of Enterprise, Alabama passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation. He was 73.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wounded Warriors Project or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Jeff found quiet joy tending to the flowers he planted each spring, carefully nurturing them from the first days of warmth through full bloom. He had a thoughtful, curious nature and was known for researching every purchase he made, especially the cars he collected and admired. Music was another constant in his life; he loved creating his own playlists. An avid reader, Jeff enjoyed novels and magazines, and above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Jeff proudly served in the United States Army for 23 years before retiring, dedicating his career to Admin Personnel and Army Intelligence. His service took him on several overseas tours, beginning with his first assignment on a small island in the Pacific, Africa, Belgium, and culminating with his final assignment in Ft. Rucker, AL. Throughout his military career, he demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and a deep sense of duty to his country.

After retiring from the Army, Jeff continued his work in service to the nation through COBRO. Whether in uniform or in civilian life, his dedication never wavered. He will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of learning, and the care he showed to those around him.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Gordon Herrell and Marie McIntyre, and two brothers Kenneth Herrell and Gordon Lee Herrell.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Herrell, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Ashley Herrell, Murfreesboro, TN; son, Chris Herrell (Sarah), Dothan, AL; grandson, Eli Herrell, Dothan, AL.
