Irenia Baring Jones

Irenia Baring Jones of Daleville, AL passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at her home. She was 69.

Irenia was a strong woman of faith, a loving, and generous woman whose greatest joy was caring for others. She loved cooking for family and friends, and no one ever left her home hungry. She always made sure everyone had something to eat and felt welcome. Strong-willed and hardworking, Irenia learned the value of perseverance at a young age, helping support her family as the third of ten siblings beginning at just nine years old. Her determination and devotion to family remained with her throughout her life.

She had a gift for gardening and could grow nearly any fruit or vegetable. She took great joy in sharing her harvest with others, reflecting her generous spirit and caring heart. She cherished spending time with her beloved dog, Millie, who was always by her side wherever she went. Irenia’s kindness, strength, and warmth touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bonifacio and Presentacion Baring, husband Dennis Jay Jones, son Joel Baring, and sister Esmerelda Baring Abelong.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathryn Jones, Daleville, AL; son, Dennis Jay Jones, Jr., Marathon, FL; three sisters, Marcelina Baring Estrellado, Enecita Baring, and Victoria Baring; five brothers, Victor Baring, Lolito Baring, Geronimo Baring, Luciano Baring and Salvador Baring; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 123 Heath, Enterprise, AL 36330.
