Huey Jackson of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Flowers Hospital. He was 78.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Asbury Church with Rev. Danny Sherrer and Rev. Wendell Benner officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until service time.
Huey was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and the satisfaction of working with his hands. He loved spending time fishing and could often be found outdoors enjoying the quiet and peace it brought. Huey had a special talent for woodworking and took great pride in the many projects he created over the years. He also enjoyed “piddling” and tinkering, always finding something to work on. Huey faithfully served his country in the United States Army for 38 years. During his distinguished military career, he proudly served in Operation Desert Storm, demonstrating courage, dedication, and a deep commitment to his nation.
Huey cherished the fellowship of his church family at Asbury Church, where he found friendship, faith, and community. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his love of building and fixing things, and the joy he found in the everyday moments of life and the love of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents Stanford and Mavis Jackson, and sister Barbara Sanders.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Libby Jackson, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Amy Jackson, Panama City, FL; son, Eddie Jackson (Josephine), Palm Coast, FL; grandchild, Jadason Jackson (Gavin Conner), New Brockton, AL; three brothers, Bob Jackson (Shirley), Samson, AL; Billy Jackson (Kathy), Abbeville, AL; Stan Jackson, West Bay, FL; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Sanders (Sonja), Madison, AL; Charlie Riley, Eufaula, AL; sister-in-law, Vicky Riley, New Brockton, AL; along with numerous nieces and nephews and several other loving family members.
