Henry Steindorff Morgan, Jr., affectionately known as “Mike,” was born to Henry and Bettye Morgan on October 22, 1949, in Andalusia, Alabama. He was a lifelong learner, faithful servant, devoted family man, and committed Christian.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 21,2026 at First Baptist Church Enterprise with Dr. Ben Bowden officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until service time.

Mike graduated from Opp High School in 1968 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Alabama in 1972. In 1976, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army, beginning an honorable military career that spanned 18 years. He served with distinction as an Army Aviator, Company Commander at Fort Rucker, Alabama, and an instructor pilot at the U.S. Army Flight School. He also served as Company Commander of Chinook helicopter crews at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. He retired from active duty in 1994 with the rank of Major and continued to train our next generation of Army Aviators as a contractor flight instructor for many years. Mike is remembered by colleagues and students alike for his professionalism, compassion, and dedication.

Above all, Mike loved God and his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty four years, Bonnie Grigg Morgan; his daughter Amy Morgan Schnorrenberg and her husband Scott Schorrenberg, and his son James Morgan and his wife Sarah. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Noah Schnorrenberg, Sophie Schnorrenberg, William Morgan, and Elise Morgan. He is also survived by his aunt, Joyce Morgan Klein, his nieces Cari Morgan Parker and Sara Morgan Jones, his brother-in-law and sister in law, Mike and Gloria Hall, their daughters Jennifer Winn and Lauren Clark.

Mike was well-read and deeply thoughtful about life’s most important questions, particularly his desire to understand the depths of God and the marvelous and beautiful sacrifice of his Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was not only deeply personal but actively lived out. He was extremely generous to those in need, especially to ministry organizations, and sought quietly to reflect Christ’s love through his actions.

A faithful member of Enterprise First Baptist Church for more than 40 years, Mike served his church with humble devotion. He was a deacon and taught Sunday School for more than 25 years, impacting countless lives through his example of steady faith.

Mike also served his community in many capacities, including President and Treasurer of the Enterprise Rotary Club and board member of the Enterprise Country Club. In every role, he was known for his integrity, and genuine care for others.

Those who knew Mike will remember his quiet strength and generous heart. While his family and friends mourn his passing, they rejoice in the assurance that he now rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

The family would like to thank his personal physician, Dr. LeeAnn Kettunen, and Dayspring Hospice for their kind and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Enterprise, AL
