Harold Thomas Favorite

July 26, 1938 — January 20, 2022

Our loving husband and father Harold Thomas Favorite went to walk with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Harold, known to many as Butch, was born July 26, 1938 in Troy Township, Ohio to Ethel and Wayne Favorite. In his early years of life he was raised by his Aunt Helen and Uncle Russell. In 1957, Harold graduated from Piqua High School. He went on to enlist in the United States Air Force. In the summer of 1962 he met the love of his life on a blind date with Patricia Carole Smith. Patricia and Harold married on October 12, 1962. During his time in the Air Force, Harold rose to the rank of TSGT. Harold was an Aviation Electronic Technician and worked on numerous aircraft. While serving, he earned his computer engineering degree from the University of California, Riverside. During his three deployments to Vietnam and Thailand, Harold served with the special operations wing. During this time, he was exposed to Agent Orange, which caused further complications to his health. He retired in Garland, Texas with full honors after 22 years of active duty service. He then went on to work for Rockwell International in Telecommunication installing fiber optics for the internet we know today. He retired from telecommunications after working 29 years for Rockwell International as well as contract work with several large corporations. At the end of his career, Harold’s work ethic and love for the military compelled him to seek employment one final time with AAFES. Harold and Patricia raised five beautiful children; Thomas Favorite, Teri Kennedy, Tracie Barnett, Tammie Davis (Jeffrey Davis) and Krystianne Favorite. He has five grandchildren; Michael Vesey (Angie Vesey), Taylor Davis (Kevin Nawrocki), Alexandria Kennedy, Zachary Barnett and Kieran Donnelly. He also has 2 great-grandchildren; Aubree Vesey and Caroline Nawrocki, “The Package.” Harold was preceded in death by both of his parents, aunts and uncles and most recently his sister, Cheryl. He is survived by his brother, David Favorite and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and always loved by his family and friends. He never met a stranger he wouldn’t help and now heaven has a blessed angel. We want to give special thanks to the wonderful hospice nurses who cared for him. He loved each one of you. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Disabled American Veterans Fund. Memorial service will be held at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Jim Endrihs officiating from Christ the King Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday.
