Georgia Pridmore Nichols, age 72, of Daleville, Alabama, passed away on January 31, 2026, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Georgia was born on January 22, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Lt. Col. George Pridmore and Violet Pridmore. She later made Daleville her home, where she spent her life serving others with joy, faith, and generosity.

She was a 1972 graduate of Enterprise High School and earned a degree in Computer Science from Enterprise State Community College. Georgia devoted more than 30 years of service to A.M. Windham Elementary School in Daleville, where she served as school secretary until her retirement in 2016. She was deeply loved by the students, families, and staff she supported, touching countless lives with her kindness and care.

Georgia’s commitment to her community was evident throughout her life. She was honored as Daleville Woman of the Year in 1987 and was serving as Board President of the Daleville Public Library at the time of her passing. She also served for one year as Grand Marshal of the Daleville Christmas Parade. Following her retirement in 2016, Georgia’s lasting impact on the city of Daleville was recognized by then-Mayor Claudia Wigglesworth, who proclaimed a “Georgia Nichols Day” in her honor, celebrating her many years of dedicated service to the school and citizens of the community.

She married her husband, Kim Nichols, on April 3, 1987. She was a devoted wife, a dedicated mother, and a loving grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family.

A devout Christian, Georgia was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years, including several years spent teaching the three-year-old Sunday School class.

Georgia was known for her joy and her genuine delight in people. She had a rare gift for making even the smallest moments feel meaningful, and she made others feel valued in her presence. Her enthusiasm for life and for those around her was unmistakable, and her gracious spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, George Pridmore and Violet Pridmore.

She is survived by her husband, Kim Nichols; her sons, Aaron (Christina) Mumpower and Madison (Miranda) Nichols; her step-daughter, Brandi (Tommy) Hutto; her sister, Barbara P. Rugg; and her grandchildren, Ashlyn Mumpower, Dalton Hutto, Paxton Hutto, and Grayson Nichols, along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Enterprise, Alabama, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Meadowlawn Memorial Park.
