Evelyn Boyd McNab of Enterprise, AL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Enterprise Health & Rehabilitation. She was 91.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.
She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially bowling and sewing for her family and friends. A devoted member of Green Hill Presbyterian Church, she faithfully attended services for many years until her health no longer allowed. Family meant everything to her, and she especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, rarely missing their games, performances, and special events when she was able to attend. She also loved to travel, particularly visiting loved ones in Georgia. She took tremendous pride in her work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in serving under J. Edgar Hoover. With her wonderful sense of humor, when anyone asked what she did for work, she would smile and say, “If I told you, I would have to kill you.”
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Hugh McNab; a brother, Bill Boyd; and her parents, Willie and Thelma Boyd.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Peacock (Ronnie); granddaughters, Cassie Medley (Lee), Enterprise, AL and Courtney Miles (Lance), Grafenwoehr, Germany; great-grandchildren, Cooper Medley, Harper Medley, Tinley Miles and Ellie Miles; grandcats, “Bentley” and “Charlee”; granddog, “Ridge”.
The family would like to thank Enterprise Health and Rehab Center (5th Hall) and DaySpring Hospice (Roseanna and Amanda) for their loving care.
