Dr. Max Bruce Donaldson

Dr. Max Bruce Donaldson of Enterprise died on May 23, 2026 at the age of 73.

Bruce was born on March 1, 1953, to Merle and Lewie Donaldson. He married his beloved wife, Martha Brandon, on March 10, 1973. After graduating from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979, he practiced at his clinic, Animal Health Center, for over 40 years. He loved being a vet and taking care of the many pets and families he served during his career.

Bruce was a businessman and civic leader who served on several local boards and was deeply committed to improving his community. He loved fishing, hunting, and time on the farm and at the beach. His happiest moments were with family and friends, gathered around the bonfire.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Lewie Donaldson; his brother, Stevie Donaldson; and his wife, Martha Brandon Donaldson.

He is survived by his sons, Brent Allen Donaldson (Carey Martin) of Birmingham, AL and Adam Bruce Donaldson of Bellwood, AL; his grandsons, Miller, Harris, and Evans Donaldson; and his brothers, Ronnie Donaldson (Dianne), Kirk Donaldson (Judy), and Gary Donaldson (Jasone).

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Meadowlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Enterprise State Community College Scholarship Fund in memory of Bruce.
