Donald Gilleland

Donald Gilleland of Enterprise, AL passed away, Tuesday, February 3, 2026. He was 73.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Donald worked as a mechanic for 46 years, a career that perfectly reflected his nature as a true jack of all trades. He loved being outdoors and could often be found tinkering, taking things apart, and figuring out how they worked. Donald had a curious mind and a hands-on spirit, always happiest when he was fixing, building, or learning something new.

Above all, Donald cherished time spent with his family. He loved being together, sharing laughs, and enjoying simple moments, especially family games of Farkle, where he proudly held the title of champion. He was also an avid fan of Georgia football and rarely missed the chance to cheer on his team. In 1999, Donald joined Moose Lodge #1503, where he found joy in serving others and giving back to his community. His willingness to help, kind heart, and friendly presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandson JD Wood; parents Noah and Flona Gilleland, five siblings and his fur baby Rocky.

Survivors include the love of his life of 33 years, Lana Gilleland, Griffin, GA; two daughters, Lisa Pair (Jerry), Enterprise, AL; Donna Gilleland (Brent Chambers), Griffin, GA; two sons, Patrick O’Brian (Kimberly), Bowman, GA; Michael O’Brian (Doreen), Griffin, GA; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald Gilleland (Betty), Gainesville, GA; sister, Mae Thayer, Thomaston, GA; along with many nieces and nephews.
