Donald "Gene" Kanzig

Donald “Gene” Kanzig of Ariton, AL passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Flowers Hospital.  

Memorial services will be held at 4:00PM, Monday, July 15, 2024 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Cliff Quincey officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00PM until service time.

Gene loved all animals, loved to fish and ride his motorcycle.  He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandkids.  He enjoyed woodworking and working with stained glass.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Esther Kanzig; his parents, Floyd and Freda Kanzig; son Donny Kanzig; sisters, Nancy Coates and Karen Longstreth; a brother, Bill Kanzig.

Survivors include daughter, Tanya Rabren (Jeffrey), Ariton, AL; son, Sean Williams (Juanita), Greenville, AL; grandchildren, Sarah (Adam), Colton, Daniel; great grandchildren, Ellie and Nathaniel; sister, Harriet Whitaker, Kenton, OH.
