Denver Thomas 71, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with Bishop Adam Endemano officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery. Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory is directing the arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to Southern Care Hospice.

Denver was a man who believed that family was the most important part of life. He never met a stranger and quickly became a friend to everyone he met. To many, he was known as “everyone’s uncle,” always ready with a smile, a story, or a helping hand. A true jack-of-all-trades, Denver had a remarkable ability to fix or figure out just about anything, earning him the nickname “McDenver,” a modern-day McGyver.

Faith was at the center of Denver’s life. He loved the Lord deeply and found great joy in serving Him and sharing his faith with others. He faithfully served as a High Priest at his church, where he was also in charge of the music ministry. Denver loved to sing and play music, and he could often be found with his guitar, banjo, or harmonica in hand. He generously shared his musical talents with others, entertaining residents at the nursing home each month and bringing joy to children by playing music during Sunday school.

Denver was a humble and hardworking man who enjoyed the simple blessings of life. He loved being outdoors, tending to his garden and caring for his chickens. He had a wonderful sense of humor and truly enjoyed being around people, always lifting spirits wherever he went. Above all, Denver will be remembered for his love for Jesus, his devotion to his family and church, and the kindness and joy he shared so freely with everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louvinia and Rueben Thomas; sister, Jewel Jeffcoat; two brothers, Travis Thomas, Gene Thomas.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years Annabelle Viola Thomas of Enterprise, AL; two sons, Jeremy Mayo Thomas, Phenix City, AL, Jason Ashley Thomas, Enterprise, AL; sister, Betty Joyce Padilla (James), Enterprise, AL; brother, Gaylon Thomas (Denise), Enterprise, AL; four grandchildren, Amry Kaszas (Troy), Nashville, TN, Brice Thomas, Nashville, TN, Cian Thomas, Phenix City, AL, JaeKob Thomas, Ft.
