Connie Gene Hudson

Connie Gene Hudson of Enterprise, AL passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Jamie Payton officiating and Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time.

Connie graduated from Enterprise High School in 1962, where he was a dedicated member of the wrestling team. That same year, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, beginning a distinguished 20-year career as a jet engine mechanic. He served his country with honor, during the Vietnam War, earning the Vietnam Campaign Medal among other commendations.

Throughout his service, Connie was stationed at several U.S. Air Force bases, including Eglin AFB in Florida and Williams AFB in Arizona. He retired from the Air Force in 1982. He was a respected longbow instructor at Fort Rucker for 26 years, sharing his passion and skill with countless students. After his military career, Connie continued to serve his community in various roles. He was also an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving as Past Quartermaster of VFW Post 6683.

Connie was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Jean Hudson; son, Shane Douglas Hudson; brother-in-law’s, Nick George, Kirby Lawson; girlfriend, Tina Johnson.

Survivors include daughter, Connie Jean Molles (Jeffrey); son, Larry Hudson; two grand-daughters, Courtney Michelle Hudson, Felicity Faith Travare (Preston); great-granddaughter, Nova Gail Lowery, Amorie Rose Lowery, Bexley Elaine Metcalf; four sisters, Kris George, Gwen Black (Randy), Joyce Belinge (Clarence), Barbara Lawson; brother, Lonnie Hudson (Martha); two aunts, Melba Martin, Janice Arington (Rex); along with numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family
