Mrs. Christiane was a talented and devoted seamstress whose skill and passion touched the lives of many. Beginning her career at just 15 years old, Christiane went on to create hundreds of beautiful dresses for brides and their families while working at Andrews Bridal Shop in Enterprise and Dothan. Her craftsmanship and creativity were unmatched—she once designed and made twelve bridesmaid dresses for a client who flew in all the way from Arkansas, crafting each one without a pattern. After working in the bridal shop all day, she would leave and go to Walmart where she worked in the fabric department helping others bring their own sewing projects to life.

It was through her work as a seamstress in France that Christiane met the love of her life, her husband James R. Dyas, who passed away May 12, 2005. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Outside of her work, Christiane cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren. She had a deep love for animals, especially her dogs, cats, and birds, and found joy and peace in the simple pleasures of life—fishing with her husband, caring for her home, and nurturing those around her. She also enjoyed working and caring for her garden. She canned and preserved the harvests that she produced.

During her husband’s final years, Christiane showed extraordinary devotion, lovingly caring for him through his last stages of life. Her kindness, patience, and strength will be remembered by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Dyas.

Survivors include her daughter, Nicole C. Savage (Mark); four grandchildren, Kevin R. Nawrocki (Taylor), Kyle L. Aten (Jerilyn), Emily C. Hataway (Jake), and Daniel A. Byers; eight great-grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan, Christopher, Caroline, Harper, Michael, Eleanor, and Amelia.
