Chris loved the outdoors, whether it was walking through the woods or casting a line into the water, he found peace in nature. He cherished the simple things in life: listening to music, tinkering around the house, and enjoying the quiet moments that others might overlook.

He was a family man through and through, deeply devoted to the people he loved. His heart was always open “so big you couldn’t weigh it,” as those closest to him often said.

Chris grew up near the Juliette River, a place that shaped who he was and always held a special spot in his heart. A gifted woodworker and natural fixer, there was nothing he couldn’t build or repair with his hands and a little patience.

Chris was preceded in death by his father Chris Tomberlin and aunt Ellie Peyton.

Survivors include 6 sons, Caleb Tomberlin, Metter, GA, Dalton Dukes, Forsyth, GA, Jace Tomberlin, TX, Christan Tomberlin, TX, Gage Tomberlin, Dothan, AL, Sam Tomberlin, Byron, GA; daughter, Willow Tomberlin, Metter, GA; mother, Jean Watson, Metter, GA; sister, Rhonda Smith (Quincy), Forsyth, GA; two brothers, Johnny Cochran, Alamo, GA, Mike Smith, Alamo, GA; four uncles, Vince Dooley (Melinda), New Brockton, AL, Ben Fordam, Fairbanks, AK, George Dooley (Tracy), Anchorage, AK, James Dooley (Tamara) Washington State; fiance, Sarah Franks, Dothan, AL; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
