Charlotte Ballard Loftin

Charlotte Ballard Loftin, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at her home in Enterprise.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Dr. Ben Bowden and Chaplain Sonny Moore officiating with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. A private burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time.

Charlotte was born and raised in Magnet Cove, Arkansas and attended nearby Henderson State University, where she earned a BSE degree, was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, and a varsity cheerleader.

She married Dave, her husband of 57 years, in 1968 and followed him throughout a 26-year Army career. In doing so, she gave up her aspiration to become a full-time high school speech and drama teacher to settle for occasional temporary roles at Dave’s various duty stations. After settling in Enterprise 32 years ago, she focused on pageant coaching, pageant judging, and retail clothing.

Charlotte had a vibrant personality, which she openly shared with friends and strangers alike. In later years, she became a loving cheerleader to her grandchildren, an avid pickleball player, and a passionate gardener who spent many hours tending to her lawn, flowers, and shrubs.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Dave, sons David (Stacy), Vestavia Hills, AL and Casey (Katie), Knoxville, TN, daughter Catherine Jenkins (Thomas), Enterprise, AL and grandchildren: Abigail, Gray, Charlie, Anna Margaret, Will, and Ella Loftin; and Anna Jenkins.
