Carolyn Walters Cawley

Carolyn Walters Cawley, age 88, received her Heavenly reward as she went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, October 24, 2025, at the TLC Nursing Center in Oneonta, Alabama where she had resided as she battled Alzheimer’s. A proud citizen of Enterprise, Alabama, she was born August 9, 1937, in Coffee County.

Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Bishop Jeff Noles officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Memorial donations may be made in Carolyn’s honor to the Children’s Department of Bradford Sanctuary of Praise, 8294 Bradford Road, Pinson, AL 35126.

‍She was a faithful member of the Enterprise Church of God (Christ Community Church) where she served as children’s director for many years. Carolyn had an tremendous work ethic and was a retired quality control supervisor from the Arrow shirt factory and an accomplished homemaker. She was an incredible cook and enjoyed entertaining; often the youth of the church would gather in her home for food and games following services. She enjoyed her independence, working in her yard, growing flowers and watching her birds (cardinals were her favorite).  Above all else, she took great delight in spending time with her loved ones, whether at church, home, out to eat, or at the lake, she loved being with her family.  

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Barney and Rena Walters, and her former husband Ralph Cawley.

Carolyn is survived by her brother, Lomax Walters; her son, Greg Cawley (Sue Ellen), her daughter, Melissa Noles (Jeff); four grandchildren, Charity (Frank), Chelsey (Bryson), Caleb (Bailey), Connor; five great-grandchildren, Jules, Savannah, Mia, Silas, and Easton. She also leaves behind many extended family members and a host of friends whom she loved dearly.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Noles, Bryson Nichols, Frank Fuentes, Mitchell Gatlin, Wayne Marler, and John Michael Cawley.

The family wishes to convey their deepest and most genuine thanks to the staff of TLC Nursing Center, Oneonta, Alabama for the gracious and kind care given to Carolyn during her residency there.
