Bonnie James of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026, at her home. She was 90.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Faithview Holiness Church with Rev. David Evans and Rev. Jon Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials be made to Faithview Holiness Church.
She was born on June 30, 1935 to Geneva and Elmer Cephus Weaver in Roanoke, VA. After graduating High School Bonnie moved to Clearwater Florida, where she met her husband Richard Lee James and married on December 19, 1955, where they returned to Enterprise, AL. Richards’s hometown after his time in the U.S. Airforce. Bonnie was a lifelong member of Faithview Holiness Church of more than 60 years. She spent her life raising three children, loving her husband, family and spending time with her grandchildren. Above all Bonnie spent her life serving her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Richard James; parents, Elmer and Geneva Weaver; four sisters, Venie Brinson, Rainey Benedict, Zennie Peck, Claudine Broughan; two brothers, Delano Weaver, Maynard Weaver
Survivors include her daughter, Geneva Marie Green (Jimmy), Enterprise, AL; two sons Ricky Lee James (Taffie), Enterprise, AL, Joddy Len James (Joyce), Enterprise, AL; two sisters, June Burks, Gloria Faye Brown; brother, Josiah C. Weaver; five grandchildren, David James, Amy James, Jesse James, Jeffrey and Jacob Green; five great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
