Barbara Jean Lee

Barbara Jean Lee of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home. She was 84.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Chris Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time.

Barbara was born on February 16, 1942, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. Barbara later married and became the proud mother of three children: DeeDee, Scott, and Mike. As an Army family, they traveled and eventually settled in Daleville, Alabama, where Barbara began doing home daycare. Over the years, she cared for countless children, and many came to know and love her affectionately as “Miss. Barbara.”

Barbara also found joy in the simple things in life. She had a true green thumb and loved gardening and caring for her house plants. She absolutely loved spending time with her siblings, going out dancing, singing karaoke, listening to gospel music, and spending time laughing and enjoying life with family and friends.

Barbara’s love extended deeply to her children and grandchildren: Kyle, Seth and Ryan were her pride and joy as well as great grandchildren Nathan, and William. They brought immense joy and pride to her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Barbara’s legacy is not found in riches or recognition, but in the countless lives she touched through kindness, sacrifice, caregiving, and love. She spent her entire life taking care of others — first her siblings, then children in her community, her parents, her son, and her family. She gave selflessly, loved faithfully, and left behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to live on in all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son Scott Lee, parents Walter and Neta Bell Doan, and sister Patty Decker.

Survivors include her daughter, DeeDee Thomas (Phillip), Enterprise, AL; son, Mike Lee, Enterprise, AL; three grandsons, Kyle Powers (Joanna); Seth Thomas (Ashlee); Ryan Thomas (Ally); two great-grandchildren, Nathan and William; brother, Thomas Lee Doan (June), Arkansas; five sisters, Lyndia Adams, Arkansas; Beverly Scott (Scotty), Arkansas; Peggy Milhone, Arkansas; Sherry Klarer (Frank), Texas; Kim Tharpe, North Carolina; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
